BA Honours Artists

The inaugural BA Doncaster Creativity
Awards given to art and design students from Doncaster College and
University Centre Doncaster took place recently.
The event took place in the showrooms of BA Components based in
Kirk Sandall, near Doncaster and the awards were presented by David
Caulfield, BA Components Sales & Marketing Director,
BA components provide a bursary to the College annually and Mr.
Caulfield confirmed its continuation for the next academic
year.
He explained, “BA employs almost 200 people
from in and around the Doncaster area and it was important to us to
show our commitment to them by getting involved at community level.
This bursary to the college combines community interest, encourages
growth and development and promotes our belief and commitment to
design and marketing. The process has been interesting, challenging
but ultimately rewarding for all involved.”
The offer consists of a £5000 bursary with add
ons such as materials, student awards and the opportunity for
students to attend an external design or exhibition event.
This year’s awards went to Catherine Curran
who won 1st Prize for The Wave Machine. 2nd Prize went Paula Elwood
for Building Blocks and 3rd Prize to Rachel Kitchen for Landscape
Panels. Highly Commended Certificates were awarded to Rocky Hussain
for Domino Effect, and Rebecca Hilton & Fiona Humphrey for
Trees.
