Doncaster Children's University™ Ceremonies
Nearly 150 children from across the
borough are expected to graduate from the Children’s University at
Doncaster College at the end of June.
This is the fourth year of the ceremonies and
it just gets bigger and bigger.
To accommodate the increase in the number of
children two ceremonies will be held this year on Monday
28th and Tues 29th June both starting at 4pm in the
drama hall at the Hub.
The Children, who will be wearing graduation
caps and gowns, will be welcomed by College Principal George Trow
and then presented with certificates before an audience of parents,
carers, school staff and partner agencies. Guests include Ger
Graus, Chief Executive of the National Children’s University and
Chris Pratt, Director of Children’s Services at Doncaster
Council.
As The Doncaster Children’s University
continues to grow and become more successful, twenty
five more organisations are waiting to join the twelve
schools and partners currently involved and amongst the 80 or so
universities nationwide it is in a unique position. It is the only
one based in a college and it enjoys keen and enthusiastic support
from the Principal and the College as a whole, and can call upon a
broad range of expertise and facilities.
The aim of the Children’s University is to
create an excitement about learning, to inspire and aspire , to
encourage inquisitiveness and help children to become more
confident and independent learners outside of school hours.
