Children’s University Awards

Over 350 school children from across
the borough will graduate from the Doncaster Children’s University
at ceremonies at Doncaster College this year.
The events will be held over 4 days at
Doncaster College’s Hub campus at the end of June and the beginning
of July.
The children have achieved a combined total of
over 18,000 extra hours of learning at clubs and camps at Doncaster
College, schools and other learning places throughout the
region.
Gervase Phinn, the Chancellor of Doncaster
Children’s University will attend the event and speak to children
and parents about the importance of learning outside the classroom
and the funny side of Education. Among other guests will be George
Trow, Principal and Chief Executive of Doncaster College, and
Hilary Robinson children’s author and radio producer.
Doncaster is unique as it is the only
Children's University based in a Further Education college. It
offers opportunities to all children and young people aged between
7 and 14 through their schools' involvement with the scheme. Over
20 schools in the Doncaster area have joined Children's
University.
