Students on Show
Doncaster College students have been involved in a
Charity Horse and Dog Show held by Friends of the Northern Racing
College.
The students from the Animal Care and Horse Care courses at the
College rode in the in-hand classes and the ridden classes and were
also involved in the organisation of the event.
The show took place in the grounds of the Northern Racing
College at Rossington Hall.
Just off the Great North road near Bawtry. Doncaster College
students also attend classes there during the week.
Reece Rowland, 18-year-old from Mexborough won first place in
the in-hand championship. The Level 2 Horse Care student said, "I
am very happy and feel lucky to have had this opportunity, thank
you."
Level 3 Animal Care student, Mika Rodgers, and Dolly, the
Doncaster College Shetland Pony, came second in the Mountain and
Moorland Class and qualified for Equifest in Hand Show Mountain and
Moorland later on in the year.
The 19-year-old from Skellow said, "we had a great day. It was a
fantastic experience and we felt proud to be representing Doncaster
College with our gorgeous pony."
Another student, Emma Prescott, said it was her first show and
she was 'thrilled to have the opportunity to take part’.
Lisa Bailey said her parents used to be involved with horses and
were highly delighted that she took part in the show and felt the
experience was fantastic! o:p will be displayed here.
Laura Astles, a Lecturer at the College said, "the learners had
a great day and enjoyed every minute of the experience and our
college notice boards are now filled with lots of lovely
rosettes!"
