Fashion graduate Laura Haywood is off to New York this weekend (Saturday, March 14) after being shortlisted for an international art award.

Laura, from Leeds, graduated from University Centre Doncaster last year and is now vying for top spot in the fashion section of the Clash of the Artists competition having made the top three.

Clash of the Artists is a world-class design competition, now in its third year, encompassing the various genres of visual art, fashion, film, live music and DJs – with entrants from across the globe.

The global contest converges with the final event on Saturday, March 14 at the 320 Studios in Manhattan. Winners will be rewarded with prized and perks.

Last year, Laura finished in third place in a national student competition to find the best up and coming designers.

Laura and fellow University Centre student Freya Nagelsmann, had been exhibiting their collections at the Museum of London's Fashion Diversity event in September.
