Apprentices have been rewarded for their achievements at the Doncaster College Apprentice of the Year Awards held at the College’s Hub campus on Tuesday, February 23.

The awards are designed to acknowledge and celebrate apprentices’ exceptional contributions to their workplace. All entries were judged and measured against criteria around achievement and good progress in learning, commitment to their own personal development, and producing work beyond expectations. Inspirational and enterprising qualities were also required in order to gain the awards. The ‘Personal Achiever of the Year’ award acknowledged apprentices who had successfully overcome barriers or obstacles, personally or in the workplace, to achieve their goals and exceed expectations.

The ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year Award’ acknowledged and celebrated the employer’s commitment to developing their workforce through Apprenticeships. The criteria required to gain this award included commitment to embedding a training culture within their company, offering a range of innovative benefits for an Apprentice, commitment to future training and Apprenticeship development and showing how apprenticeship’s can benefit the Business.
