College Five a Side Reaches Goals

Students have been taking part in a five-a-side football league which has been running in the Sports Hall at the Hub Campus, Doncaster College since last October.

Participants are from all the Academies at the College and games are organised at lunchtimes and so they do not interfere with the learner’s lessons.

Sam O’Brien, FE Sports Co-ordinator at the College said, “The In House Football League started in October because of the request of the learner voice from the sport enrichment questionnaires that circulated around different Academies. I did a trail for induction week of a football tournament and this seemed popular so we put it on to continue throughout the year. We have over 85 learners participating in the football every week.

"All participants are excited and look at the league regularly to see if they are moving up the league. ‘Young Boys’ are currently top of the league with only a few weeks left.”
