Jason’s Journey Down Wembley Way

Jason's Journey Down Wembley Way

Jason Brown

Jason Brown has landed a plum job and is on his way to Wembley with Rotherham United for the League Two play-off final on Sunday. Jason, a student at University Centre Doncaster, will be going as part of the physiotherapy team and will be sitting on the bench.

Jason originally worked in sales for an electricity company and decided to re-enter education in 2007 by enrolling as a mature student onto the HND in Sport and Exercise Science course and then enrolled onto the BSc (Hons) Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences.

During his industrial placement module he gained a place at Rotherham United as a Sports Therapist treating players before and after training as well as dealing with injured players undergoing rehabilitation.

Jason now combines his studies with part-time work at Rotherham and has proved to be very popular amongst the players.. “Yes, the players all like me and we have a lot of banter and they all take the mickey out of me” says Jason. “I think it’s because I played football and come from that bantering football background that they’ve taken to me”

Going to the University Centre has definitely opened new doors for Jason "it’s given me many more options…sports psychology, health nutrition, PE teacher, Masseur. I was in a dead end job now I have all these options….and a trip to Wembley to boot!"
