George Trow, Principal and Chief Executive of Doncaster College,
speaks to the guests
George Trow, Principal and Chief Executive of Doncaster College,
welcomed the Chamber to the College and spoke about the benefits to
business on offer at the College.
In his introduction Mr Trow, said, "The College has a vision to
be the leading provider of innovative, high quality education and
training, focusing on improving the skills base of Doncaster and
South Yorkshire.
"In achieving that vision we have identified the following key
markets, Preparation for work, Progression into work and Returning
to work.
"I am sure you would agree that skills development in all its
forms has clear business benefits such as: improving the
recruitment and retention of staff; providing training, which
improves the quality of the services and products you supply to
your customers; improving compliance; and reducing both financial
and legal risks and ultimately increasing profits.
"Doncaster College is here to support you in the development of
your staff and in improving business performance."
He then went on to explain in more detail the work the College
is doing in Doncaster in support of Doncaster businesses.
Guests were also treated to a delightful hot buffet, which was
prepared and served by students from the Hospitality and Catering
Department at the College, and this went down extremely well.
This was followed by a networking session.
