Jeans for Genes
Lorna Smart (bottom right ) with other members of the team and
Gill Parkes ( top right ) Academy Director
Students and staff from the Academy of Commercial
Enterprise made Jeans for Genes the theme of tutorials for a whole
week.
Students took part in various fun activities and together with
staff have raised over £160 for the national charity Jeans for
Genes; which cares and supports children and families affected by
genetic disorders and funds vital research into the causes and
potential cures of these conditions.
As well as being involved in lots of other activities throughout
the week, staff and students paid £1 to wear jeans to work and took
part in a quiz. Lorna Smart (Workforce Development Coordinator) and
her team won first prize of a bottle of wine for the staff quiz,
while Naomi Scriven and David Quinn won a meal for two in the
Waterfront Restaurant as student quiz winners.
