Students Visit Paralympic Games

Four students from Doncaster College had an experience they will never forget when they attended the Paralympic games in London recently.

The four, Jack Aldred, Alex Owen, Lauren Cole and Rebecca Langley all from the Sports and Exercise BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma along with tutors Stewart Sanderson and Sam O’Brien made a bright and early start down to the Olympic stadium to see a packed morning session.

They got to watch a number of events including the men’s blind long jump final, wheelchair 400 metres, 100 metres sprint, javelin and shot put.

They thought The Olympic stadium was 'absolutely unbelievable' and were excited to see the athletes taking part and were thrilled at what the competitors were capable of.

The students had 'an amazing day' and came away with the belief, "I was there and I’ve seen it."
