What's that coming over the High Melton hill? Is it I
Monster?
I Monster's Jarrod with College students and staff
A group of Doncaster students
have filmed the latest music video for local band I
Monster.
The students, all current or former learners
at Doncaster College and University Centre Doncaster, have written,
produced and starred in the band’s video for ‘Lust For A Vampyr’
which will be released in the coming weeks.
The project happened after the band’s Jarrod
Gosling spoke to close friend Grant Bridges, who lectures at the
College, about producing a video for a forthcoming release.
Grant then, along with colleagues Lee Johnson
and Gareth Welbourn, enlisted the help of students from various
arts courses at the College and University Centre and got to
work.
The video was shot on location at University
Centre Doncaster, Wentworth Castle and in a private garden.
Student Rachel Rollin, who has since joined
the University Centre as a lecturer, said: “It was great to work on
a project like this with such talented people. The band was great,
the students were great and Grant will great.
“It showed how hard everyone has to work to
get a project like this to completion. Everyone worked extremely
hard and every piece of the jigsaw came together perfectly. I can’t
wait to see it being played all over the world now.”
Fellow student Rhona McRobbie, who acted as a
vampire in the film, said: “It was a fantastic experience. Everyone
worked hard but was still very chilled. We all had a great
time.”

Other students involved included actresses
Cheryl Boothe, Rhea Dolan, Lauren Bell, music producer Michael
Dunne, make-up artist Andrea Holt, screenwriter Stuart Angel
McGregor and producer Simon Atkinson.
Lecturer Grant Bridges said: “This has been a
very good experience for our students and they have worked so hard
to produce a very good music video. This is the type of
professional live projects we want to produce more of on our new
Moving Image production degree that comes online in September
2009.”
I Monster’s Jarrod Gosling said: “I’ve been
very impressed with their work and I’m sure it will look great on
television.”
I Monster’s main hit so far has been Daydream
In Blue, which was released in 2001. The band’s music also appeared
in the hit film Shaun Of The Dead.
Doncaster College and University Centre
