Still Not to Late to Study for a Degree
Despite record numbers signing up for
degree programmes at University Centre Doncaster, there are still
places left on some courses.
This year has seen the Centre’s higher
education learner figures shoot up by over 10% on this time last
year. Recent research has shown that students are
increasingly choosing to study locally and in response to
impressive levels of demand the University Centre has made
additional places available on all higher education courses.
Places are now available on full and part time
courses such as Applied Social Science, English, Business
Management, Sports Studies and a range of Education/ Teaching and
Performing/ Creative Arts programmes – and students could save up
to £2400 by studying at the Centre, operated by Doncaster
College.
The Centre is offering two unique bursaries to
help students this September, aimed at keeping talent local.
The Doncaster Education City Bursary is
available to any such higher education student who studied at Level
3, either at Doncaster College, Dearne Valley College or any
secondary school in the Doncaster Council area in the past two
years and is worth £400 a year.
The Doncaster College Bursary is available to
any such higher education student who is in receipt of any
means-tested support from their Local Authority and is also worth
£400 a year. Students can qualify for both bursaries.
Fees and bursaries for part-time higher
education students enrolling from 2008 onwards are usually
calculated as a proportion of the full-time fee and bursary,
dependant on how long it takes to complete the programme.
And fees for the centre are lower than almost
every university in the country at £2,700 per year.
