| Job: Field Support Engineer |
| Started at college: 2005 |
Well, where to start! I
began working for the College on August 2nd
2004 as a Modern Apprentice after completing various part-time
courses a student at Waterdale.
I was able to work and learn at the same time, which
has helped me pick up the right amount of experience I have later
found useful.
After a year of working in
CITS (Corporate Information
Technology Services) as a Modern Apprentice, I was
offered a position as a Junior Field Support Engineer, which I
accepted without question and in early 2007 I was made a
permanent member of staff.
I enjoy being part of a large team, and the
many aspects of office/field work that follows, CITS are a great
department and as hard as we work, everyone still manages to keep a
cool and stay as sane as possible .
I like how the College has improved over the past year
and a bit, there have been a lot of changes and it has been a bit of
an ache settling down properly in a very new building. I’m more
grateful that I was able to take up a Modern Apprentice here at
Doncaster College in the first place, the Work Based Learning team
couldn’t have been more helpful and assisted me 100% of the way,
through a NVQ Level2 in IT and the Modern Apprenticeship
itself.
In my spare time, I’m a bit of an amateur
photographer, not as good as some, but its early days yet. But if
it's different, stands out,
I’m there...
I travel as much as I can too, I like to get
out and see different places and experience other cultures, I would
say my favourite place so far is America, I haven’t seen as much of
the place as I would like to but, the handful of times I have been,
I have loved every minute, a very different culture to
ours...
