I have seen many changes over the past
decade or so at the College – but none as exciting as moving into
our new campus on Doncaster’s waterfront.
I started my graphic design career here at the
College in the 90s and completed a couple of courses at Waterdale
to help me on my way.
But everyone’s settled in now in this
fantastic new building – both staff and students – and there’s a
great atmosphere around the place. And I think our office space has
to be one of the best in the Hub – right on top of the ‘garlic
bulb’ with a superb view of Doncaster town centre.
The design team are currently very busy
putting our creative minds to various jobs marketing the College as
one of the leading educational establishments in the region. We’ve
also been drafted in by Doncaster Rovers FC to help with their
promotional activity, which is very exciting and a bit
different.
I’ve also designed this year’s undergraduate
prospectus and the branding of various departments around the
College and regularly lay out the internal staff newsletter
Communicate, which is set to be revamped soon.
I also enjoy being part of so many different
events that take place across the campuses. In just the past six
months, I have had a role to play in the launch of the Relate
Institute, the broadcasting of BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions, the
graduation ceremonies and so much more.
Overall, life at the College is good and I
really enjoy the close working relationship the department has with
all of the 1,200 staff both at the Hub and High Melton.
