Having achieved a BSc (Hons) in Business Computing, HND in Software
Engineering, Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft
Certified Desktop Support Technician, I feel appropriately placed
working within CITS at the Hub.
I started at High Melton managing and
supporting the Interactive Whiteboards across the college campuses
and also developing a platform to disseminate the National
Learning Network materials.
I used to do staff development workshops in
using the Interactive Whiteboards and show casing best practice.
Initially, there were two staff in the ILT Team and this soon grew
to a team of 5 technical staff members and 3 staff development
tutors.
I now administer the college’s Virtual
Learning Environment (Blackboard) , manage all
of the Interactive Whiteboards and projectors throughout the
college and develop and enhance the college’s eLearning server.
This is made possible by the state of the art IT infrastructure
that has been installed throughout the college.
Recently I have managed the installation of
the LCD screens around college, this involved working closely with
marketing, especially Tom Brook.
I enjoy my role tremendously and am excited to
be working within the new college at the Waterfront; it is a
vibrant and exciting place to work. I live locally and to do my bit
for the environment, I sold my car last summer and now cycle to
work every day (braving the various weather conditions).
