After completing a degree in Film and
Media Production at Sheffield Hallam University, I joined the
College as part of the Directorate of Learning and Information
Services as the E-Media Resources Assistant. My office is at the
Television and Media Studio, room AA24 Old Hall, High
Melton.
During my time at university I developed a
keen interest in film editing and assisted in setting up a
filmmaking society to allow students to come together to make their
own films. I even edited a short film for the Salvation Army which
was a great opportunity.
Now in my job at Doncaster College I am able
to use my knowledge and skills developed during this time, to
provide a good range of media services to all staff across the
College. These include filming, editing, tape transfers to DVD,
off-air recordings, technical assistance, practical media advice
and providing equipment to borrow such as cameras. The television
studio is also fully operational and can be booked out by
Academies/Directorates though central timetabling.
The services are available to request now,
ready for the start of the academic year.
