| Job Title: Student Liaison Clerk –
Learner Services |
| Length of time at college: Six
Years |
Hi, after seeing the last of my children off to
full-time school I decided it was time to come back to college and
do something about my education. I enrolled on a basic office
course and by the end of it I’d secured a position as an
Information Assistant in the Learner Services Department.
That was six years ago and I haven’t looked back
since.
Much of my time is spent behind the front desk
of Learner Services or on the telephone taking enquiries. It
is very diverse and no two days are the same which is something I
love about my work. I have always been a people person and
I’m passionate about Customer Service so landing the position gave
me the best of both worlds and was a dream come true.
I work in a large team of around 17 people and
we all have different roles including: Careers, AIMS, Enquiries and
Enrolments, but we compliment each other in our areas of knowledge
and are all dedicated to giving the student friendly, accurate and
professional service.
When I started at the College I was very quickly bitten by the
learning bug and have continued to build on my studies whilst
working here. My ambition now is to teach Customer Service
and in September I will hopefully be embarking on a teaching
certificate.
