| Interesting Fact: College has made me
more of an adult. |
I am currently on the Pre-16 STEPS course studying the
construction trade. I am enjoying my time at College and excited
about learning new things.
We learn new things all the time and pick up
lots of new techniques when Mr Watson (lecturer) does a
demonstration. I am hoping to prove to my lecturer that I am worthy
of coming back next year in a specific trade. I am currently
studying bricklaying, joinery, plastering, tiling and painting and
decorating.
I have passed bricklaying and am in the
process of building stud walls and fixing plasterboards, which we
will plaster and paint. We have also fitted windows. This project
is very exciting and challenging for me and reminds you why you’re
at College.
The College and my lecturer have made me more
of an adult and introduced me to working life, which has made me
realise in the end there’s only me who can make my future.
College is very different to school – it’s more of a relaxed and
adult environment which brings out the best in you.
