Name: Lynn Jones
Courses: Intermediate Office Skills, Level 1 and 2
Interesting Fact: I left school at 14 with no qualifications and returned to education aged 50

I left school at 14 with no qualifications at all and worked in catering, sewing, bar work and loads of other jobs. Back in 1991 I was diagnosed with Raynards Syndrome, which limits the things I can do.

But last year, when I turned 50, I decided to get back into education and learn something new. I went to the College to get some skills in administration and haven’t looked back since. I’ve just passed my Office Skills qualifications and am looking for work as a receptionist.

Education has changed a lot since I was last at school – I didn’t even know how to work a mouse or even turn on a computer but now I’ve bought myself a laptop and might even connect to the Internet. I would recommend the College to anyone wanting to improve their skills.
