Many students choose us because it means they can either live at
home or continue working while they study. However, we also have
plenty of on-site accommodation for students who are new to the
area, and we can help you find the best place to live to meet your
circumstances.
Halls of residence
We have on-campus accommodation at High Melton, which is split
into four halls of residence and is home to 250 students.
Surrounded by greenery, it’s a beautiful, inspiring place to
live and study, and our prices are very competitive.
All our halls of residence are self-catering. You’ll have a
shared kitchen, which includes an electric hob, microwave,
fridge-freezer, electric kettle and toaster. You’ll just need your
own cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
The rooms
Our rooms come with everything you’ll need to live comfortably.
Some have views across the rolling Dearne Valley and others have
en-suite showers. There are toilet and bathroom facilities on each
floor. A few rooms have internet connections, and the whole of the
campus is covered by a wi-fi cloud for immediate online access. All
rooms come equipped with a duvet and two pillows. All you need to
do is bring a duvet cover, sheets, pillowcases and towels.
If you’re living away from home for the first time, we know it
can be quite daunting, especially at first. We offer plenty of
support to make sure you stay stress-free.
Room allocation
We do our best to make sure all first-year students get a place
in one of our halls of residence, and we give priority to students
travelling from outside Doncaster and the surrounding area. You
must confirm thatyou accept an offer on one of our courses before
we can guarantee you a room.
As with most universities, you will normally live off campus
after the first year, but if there is a room available, we may
offer it to students in their second, third or fourth year of
study.
Rental accommodation
There are plenty of places to rent in and around Doncaster town
centre. The cost of living is relatively low, so the good news is,
your money should stretch that little bit further. If you need help
finding somewhere, we can help you search for the right place to
live. Just contact our accommodation manager on 01302 553 548.
