Alternatively, you may have experience in business and wish to complement your experience with a formal business qualification.

If you have a postgraduate certificate or equivalent professional qualification, you may be able to enter directly into the second year of the qualification.

International students may apply to study on our international MBA. Information is available from the International Office.

How will this course help me and my organisation?

You will have the opportunity to bring real workplace issues to the table, to analyse and find solutions to the challenges you encounter in your own working environment. The course is ‘action based’ which means that in your assignments and dissertation you will apply your learning directly to your work, giving you the opportunity to make real improvements to the business. You will also benefit from developing the ability to objectively challenge the status quo, to critically analyse situations, to reflect on your actions and learning, and to gain confidence in your management and leadership skills.

Course Content and Structure

You will study the following subjects during your time with us:

Year 1

  • Marketing
  • Knowledge and Information

  • Finance
  • Organisation Behaviour

Year 2

During the second year you will also complete a dissertation for which you will research a real strategic issue within your organisation, implement changes as a result of your research and evaluate the impact of your actions. This is an opportunity to develop your personal skills as well as to add real value to your organisation.

There is an option to complete your dissertation during a third year of study. All dissertation years will involve workshops and individual tutorials.

There are no examinations; a variety of innovative assessment methods are planned to complement traditional assignments and your dissertation. You will deliver presentations both individually and as groups, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your communication and team skills.
