CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice
Whether you are hoping to launch a career in Human Resources, a
line manager, or are managing a small business and want to know
more about your responsibilities to employees, the Certificate in
Human Resource Practice will give you the core skills to work
effectively with people.
Guided by a highly qualified team of lecturers, who are also
experienced Human Resources practitioners, you will enjoy a series
of lectures, case studies and practical activities to gain a
nationally recognised qualification awarded by the prestigious
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. We have unique
progression opportunities eventually leading to a Masters in
HRM.
The main course begins in September and runs until July and for
this route, subject to numbers, there is a choice between Monday
afternoon or Thursday evening sessions. There is also a fast route
to qualification each year beginning in February and lasting 5
months which is subject to higher entry requirements.
The course is suitable for those working in the personnel field
and who may have little or no practical experience or no academic
qualifications.
The course is designed to be practical and participative, with
the emphasis on:

Course Content and Structure
The following modules are covered in the course:
- Developing your self as an effective human resources
practitioner
- Understanding organisations and the role of human
resources
- Recording, analysing and using HR information
- Resourcing talent
- Supporting good practice in managing employment relations
- Supporting good practice in performance and reward
management
Assessment
Students are required to demonstrate their competence through
the completion of assignments, presentations and a role play
sequential activity (there are no formal traditional
examinations).
Entry Requirements
Acceptance onto the course is subject to an interview by a
member of the Doncaster Business School CIPD team who will ensure
that you:
- Demonstrate the ability to benefit from the course
- Have basic literacy skills
- Have access to an organisation's Personnel or HR function.
Acceptance onto the fast-track programme starting in February is
subject to a short written assessment.
