Tuition and support is central to this programme. Our tutors are
experienced human resources and business professionals who are
either Chartered Members or Fellows of the CIPD.
This programme aims to develop, within a business context, your
analytical, application, research and personal transferable skills.
The key skills that are needed at entry level to a Masters level
programme in a social science or business subject.
If you are not a graduate, but want to join advanced level
study, and have the right entry-level knowledge, skills and
attitudes to succeed on a postgraduate programme, this is the
course for you. It is specifically designed to enable candidates to
join the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management
(University of Wales). It may also provide the necessary skills
required to join other business-related postgraduate courses,
subject to fulfilling the entry requirements.
How will this course help me and my organisation?
This course will help you develop analytical and research skills
in preparation for higher-level studies within business subject
areas. For example, it will help ease the transition from a level 3
course, or other unrelated degree courses, and provide an insight
into the expectations at Masters level study.
Course Content and Structure
- Research and reasoning skills in a business context (4
credits)
- Understanding the business environment (4 credits)
- Self management and study skills (4 credits)
Assessment
The assessment for this course is varied, including a case study
assignment, analysing a business issue and asssessed group
presentations.
Entry Requirements
Acceptance onto the course is subject to an interview with a
member of the Doncaster Business School. You should hold a level 3
qualification i.e. Certificate in Human Resource Practice or an
appropriate level of relevant experience in human resource
management, or other relevant management experience. Students
wishing to progress onto the postgraduate diploma in Human Resouces
Management (University of Wales) must have a minimum of three years
HR experience and successfully complete this course.
