HND Construction
The BTEC Higher National Diploma in Construction (F/T) is a
professional qualification and provides the opportunity for
students who are not in employment to gain the qualification on a
two year full time basis

The HND in Construction is a two year course of study which
consists of 16 modules. 6 of these are core and 10 are specialist
and can be tailored to match individual student specialisms. These
can be agreed with the course leader upon gaining entry to course
and will selected from the specialist list below.

Assessment
Assessment will be by a combination of methods including
coursework, projects and examinations
Entry Requirements
Entry onto the two year HNC requires one of the following:
- 40 UCAS Tariff Points- from at least 1 GCE A Level with
supporting GCSE grades A-C in appropriate science, maths or
technology subjects
- BTEC National Subsidiary Diploma (Level 3) + NVQ level 3 trade
qualifications
- BTEC National Diploma (Level 3) in Construction and the Built
Environment
- NVQ 3 Site Supervision or Site Technical Operations
- Mature entrants with previous construction experience may be
recognised through Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

meet the standard entry criteria, but we would expect to see
evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development and
a capacity to pursue the course successfully.

Students who successfully complete the course may choose to
proceed to the BSc (Hons) Integrated Technology taught at
University Centre Doncaster. Alternatively, they may choose
relevant Degree courses at various partner Universities or simply
to enter the industry workforce newly qualified.
Student Destinations
Students who have previously studied this qualification have had
a range of varying success. Some have entered Universities of their
choice where they have studied and gained higher level
qualifications, whereas others, who have been employed, have
received promotion and have risen to higher level positions within
their companies.
