Deborah Pulleyblank MA, BA (Hons), PGCE

Current roles

Assistant Director / Head of School Arts

Biography

Following the completion of my degree which culminated in a Final show at Claridges Hotel Mayfair in London, I started working for the independent knitwear company Scott Knitwear in Cheltenham. During my time at Scott Knitwear I was responsible for pattern writing and sampling for designers such as Betty Jackson, The Duffer of St George and Cecile Jeffries.

In 1994 whilst producing and selling my own collection of children’s knitwear I started working for Doncaster College as a technician and part time lecturer, I progressed on to course leadership of the National Diploma in Fashion and Clothing and the then HND in Fashion. In 2006 I prepared and wrote the BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles programme and have since in collaboration with colleagues worked on the validation of the Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Pattern Cutting and MA Design Enterprise programmes that are currently running at the University Centre Doncaster. Following my appointment as the Curriculum Leader for Fashion and Textiles I became involved in raising the profile of the programmes by joining the Association of Fashion and Textile Courses, British Council of Colleges.

Although my current role as Head of School requires me oversee and manage the current and planned Higher Education Arts provision at the University Centre Doncaster I am still an active member of the Fashion team and work with staff and students to ensure the success of the annual end of year Fashion Show and Exhibitions.
