Biography
I studied at Doncaster College during 1974-75 where I completed
the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, I then progressed on to
Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic to study for a degree in Fine Art.
After completion I travelled and continued my practice, exhibiting
within group and solo shows. In 1987 I began teaching initially at
Rotherham College and Doncaster College; life drawing and painting
being my main focus. At this time I continued to be self- employed
and worked for Winsor and Newton as one of their product
demonstrators either in specialist art and material outlets or at
large trade events. I became a full time lecturer in 1994 at
Doncaster College working across a range of Further Education
programs. In 2004 I completed a PGCE and in 2005-07 studied for an
M.A. in Fine art at Lincoln University. I continue to practice
exhibiting in both group and individual shows, winning the
Doncaster Open in 2003
My own practice and research is centred upon landscape, and the
aspect of visible and non- visible perception. Since 2009 I have
been involved with a group of artists from different parts of the
UK collectively working on the theme ‘The nature of landscape’.
