Biography

I have worked within the field of Visual Communication since 1995.

Starting my creative training at De Montfort University, Leicester in 1992 my work incorporated a multi-discipline approach to fine art image making through a combination and juxtaposition of painting, drawing, printmaking and photography.

With and increasing importance of digital media within the creative industries my work took on a clearer design focus and in 1999 I successfully completed a Masters Degree in Visual Communication from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. During this course I was able to develop and explore narrative based graphic design through typography and moving image.

My full time teaching career commenced in 2003 at Birmingham Metropolitan College where I was Programme Leader for HND Graphic Design and in 2006 I became Curriculum Manager with for all further education multi-discipline Art & Design courses. In 2010 I joined University Centre Doncaster as part of the BA graphics team. Previous to this I had taught graphic design at a number of institutions within the West Midlands region; University of Wolverhampton, Hereward College Coventry, Stafford College.
