Programme Leader: BA (Hons) Fashion & Textile Design
Biography
I began my Fashion career as a knitwear technician for Edina
Ronay from1984 to1988; it was this that encouraged me to study my
craft at a higher level.
Whilst studying for my HND Fashion and Textile Design, I entered
the Twisted Thread Competition in 2001 and won 1st prize. On
completion of my HND I went on to study my Cert Ed and began
teaching Design to Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing students, crafts
to students with learning difficulties and Fashion and Clothing on
the National Diploma Provision at Doncaster College.
From 1999 to 2001 I was the Course Leader for the ND Fashion and
Clothing and Illustration/Interior Design Course. In 2001 I moved
on to teach on the BA (Hons) Combined Design Course delivering,
Historical/Contextual Studies, Business and Professional Studies
and Visualisation.
I successfully completed my Masters in Design at the University
of Lincoln in 2008.
In 2010 I took over as Programme Leader for the BA (Hons)
Fashion and Textile Design Course.

Research / scholarly activity
Continuous research into areas of Sustainability, Fairtrade,
Globalisation, the Economy and Demography, Intellectual Property
and Codes of Ethics within the Fashion and Textile Industry.
