Research / scholarly activity

I completed in summer 2011 research on student engagement with the concept of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

I am also about to undertake a piece of research linked the value of students undertaking the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Learning and Development Practice programme we offer at the University Centre Doncaster. The research audience will be former students as well as leading thinkers in the L&D field. The research will link in where organisations have applied innovative approaches to L&D and the extent to which the students organisations have measured the return on investment for attending the programme. It will also explore to what extent the role of the L&D Practitioner adds value to their organisation. The findings are due to be published mid-2013.

Projects

I am a member of the national CIPD CPD working party, a group looking at the engagement with CPD and how it links, supports and is demonstrated at each of the professional levels of membership of the profession.
