Biography

I have worked as a Lecturer with Doncaster College since 2008. During that time I have delivered teaching on a range of courses within the School of Business and Management. I strive to be innovative in my approach to teaching, and have been recognised for this, as in 2009 I was nominated for the NCFE Award for Innovative and Effective Learner Engagement.

Previously I have worked within organisational development for the NHS. During this time I was involved in supporting successful organisational change, leadership development, job evaluation and competency frameworks.

Current modules taught

I teach various modules on the MSc in Human Resource Management, including research methodology, organisational learning and knowledge management, and leading, managing and developing people. I also provide dissertation supervision for final year MSc students.

I also teach knowledge management on the MBA programme.

I am course leader for the Developing Business Awareness and Study Skills (DBASS) and run the fast-track Certificate in Human Resource Practice.

Research / scholarly activity

I have recently attained a teaching fellowship which is providing me with the opportunity to research how we can better enable students to succeed at postgraduate study.

I have also conducted research into the effectiveness of continuing professional development amongst teachers of higher education
