Students Gain Work Experience with Celebrity Chef

Posted: 12th December 2014

Doncaster College and University Centre welcomed Celebrity Chef, Author, and Restaurant owner Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL to the Waterfront Restaurant last month.

Catering and Hospitality students accompanied Chef Cyrus and his wife Pervin Todiwala in the preparation of his signature menu which was served to guests at the Benefits for Business event at the College.

Level 3 Catering and Hospitality student, 22 year old Shila Gale from Intake was hands on helping to prepare the main course, and as a result has gained an opportunity to visit Chef Cyrus’ restaurant, “It was a nice experience to prepare a different type of food, bring new ingredients to the College and learn about traditional Asian cooking”.  Shila, along with other fellow students agree that experiences like this are good for students to gain contacts that will help when they have completed their studies and enter industry full time.

Elected Mayor, Ros Jones and Civic Mayor Pat Haith were joined by local businesses and members of Doncaster Council and Chamber to enjoy the wonderful 3 course meal as well as being informed of the wide range of facilities at the College that are available to assist within development and growth.
