Hairdressing Student Through to Regional Heats

Posted: 6th March 2015

Doncaster College East, Level 2 hairdressing student Kelly Howe has been successful in being shortlisted for the Northern Regional heats of the Wella Xposure national student hairdressing competition.

Kelly had to submit a photograph of her work and was selected from hundreds of entrants. She will participate in the heats on Thursday 16 April, which are hosted at the College welcoming 20 students from colleges across the north of England.

Xposure celebrates up-and-coming hairdressing talent in colleges and training providers, inviting students to create a commercial cut and colour which is first judged with an inter-college photographic competition.

The top five entries from each college go on to compete in a national photographic heat, with the top 80 students then tasked with recreating their look live in regional heats.

The best 20 students will battle it out in a grand finale at the Wella World Studio in London, before gold, silver and bronze titles are awarded.

Winners receive a host of money-can’t-buy hairdressing prizes, including exclusive education and, for the gold winner, the chance to shadow a leading hairdresser for the day.

We wish Kelly the very best of luck!
