Students of Past and Present Collaborate on Brand Launch

Posted: 11th May 2015

Five Doncaster College and University Centre students have had the opportunity to collaborate with some familiar faces in the form of the multi-award winning design duo, Liam and Ryan Swift.  Brothers and award winning former graduates, who run Doncaster creative agency, Attract.

The branding brothers recently approached students with an opportunity to lead on an initial photo shoot to help create visuals for new cosmetics brand, MAYA.

The lucky five included HND Art and Design (Photography) students Lee Smith, Caitlin Smaldon and Simone Dawson, along with hair and beauty students Enbar Levran and Vanessa Dawson who were selected after a round of interviews that showcased their abilities. With the aim of the collaboration creating a lasting relationship that could potentially result in employment.

Ryan, Managing Director of Attract commented, “We wanted to give the students a rare opportunity to experience a professional environment. As former students we know these opportunities are usually few and far between – hopefully with our new relationship this is a thing of the past and we can collaborate on more projects moving forward.”

Liam Swift, 28 completed his national diploma in Graphic design at Doncaster College following onto a BA in Visual Communication at the University Centre. Younger brother Ryan, 25 also studied BTEC Art & Design/ Graphic Design at the College. The pair dove straight into business, forming Attract five years ago and haven’t looked back amassing an impressive collection of accolades over the last three years.

Ryan continued, “The students stepped up to the plate and smashed this brief out of the park, rarely have we seen such professionalism in industry”.
