
On Wednesday 21st October Doncaster College and University Centre welcomed industry experts from the Health and Social Care sector to successfully launch the new Gold Standard Skills Academy providing high quality cutting edge training to meet the needs of the challenging and changing HESC work place.
Students currently studying at the College through levels 1-3 will benefit from the academy providing gold standard training developed through already formed strong links with local employers. Raising student aspirations and standards of training to ensure students are ‘work ready’ to improve employment opportunities as well as save employers time and money on training.
The College currently works in partnership with DMBC, NHS, Building Better Opportunities, Home Instead, I Care Ambassador’s and Age UK to equip students with vital training ensuring they are highly skilled and a set above the rest when they leave their studies looking for employment.
Dr Rupert Suckling, Director of Public Health for DMBC speaking at the event felt that the project was a fantastic starting point which could be rolled out on a much wider scale.
