Student Creates Horror Make-up Looks for Social Media Challenge

Posted: 4th November 2016

Doncaster College make-up student Alisha Pollard showed off incredible special effects skills to her 9000 followers with horrifying make-up looks. The 16 year old turned to Instagram to take part in a #100daysofmakeup challenge with her own spine-tingling creations, some taking 20 minutes, others up to 4 hours. Using household items like cereal, coffee grounds and cotton wool, Alisha completely transforms herself from glam to grunge with horror inspired make-up idas. “You don’t need loads of expensive stuff”, Alisha explains. “Sometimes I even cut up old shoes I don’t wear and use the material.”

Alisha enrolled onto our 1 year Special Effects Make-up course this September to pursue her career after discovering her passion for make-up last Halloween. “It’s really exciting to be making a bit of a name for myself and College gives us so many great opportunities to work in the industry.”

The teen spends all her time outside of College creating edgy or gory make-up ideas and posting them to her huge social media following. Her passion and creative talent didn’t go unnoticed with up to 4000 likes on her Insta-pics, family, friends and neighbors had her fully booked for Halloween this year. Well done Alisha!
