We are pleased to confirm that Doncaster College and North Lindsey College are at an early stage in discussions about a possible merger.
As one organisation, we would be a major regional education provider, creating exciting opportunities for our current and future students.
Serving our local community will always be a priority, and we would continue to deliver skills and training locally. We would keep our name and preserve our local identity, working with businesses in our area and providing training and skills development in the areas they need.
At the same time, we would be able to tap into employment and specialist skills opportunities opening up across our region. We would offer choice across further and higher education as well as professional and technical qualifications, apprenticeships, adult and vocational learning – helping students take advantage of local and regional employment opportunities. As a financially strong organisation, we would also be able to invest across our curriculum and infrastructure.
There will be no immediate changes for staff or students at either college: current courses will continue and prospective students should apply for courses in the normal way.
A formal consultation will take place later this year and we hope everyone with an interest in our College will take part. We’ll share more details soon.
In the meantime, if you’d like further information, please contact Jessica Reed on 01302 553767.
