Ex Floristry Student through to WorldSkills UK Final

Posted: 17th September 2018

Anita Amesbury, 49, has been selected to compete in the WorldSkills UK LIVE finals at the NEC Birmingham later this year.

The success comes shortly after Anita smashed the regional heats by taking home first place at the competition which was held at East Durham College back in June.  She impressed the judges by creating a stunning 3-piece wreath, arrangement and shoulder corsage for a service of remembrance.

Anita completed her level 3 Floristry at Doncaster College in July this year, and now works for a local business, Lockwoods Florist.

“We are very proud of all Anita has achieved, she has a bright future ahead of her in the Floristry industry and we wish her the best of luck in the Nationals at the NEC.” – jo Cullingworth, Floristry tutor.
