An evening of fun and festivities at The Hub

Posted: 06/12/2021

Doncaster College is proudly hosting its first ever large public Christmas Market, with fun for all the family in the heart of Doncaster town centre. The evening is set to have lots on offer with a whole range of shopping opportunities and activities, even a chance to see Santa on his light up sleigh.

The event boasts an indoor market with local businesses selling their wares; everything from the popular local Danvm Gin, delicious treats from cake and confectionary business True Temptations, gorgeous floral arrangements, jewellery, art, and even festive treats for the family pet. Not only this but there will be a range of fantastic activities available indoors with face painting, a tabletop escape room, and an activity from Doncaster Children’s University.

The fun doesn’t stop outside, as the college’s waterfront will play host to exciting activities including a helter-skelter, synthetic ice rink, hook-a-duck, and the popular Lions’ Santa. The fun will be accompanied by some fantastic singing from Doncaster College performing arts students, followed by the festive sound of a brass band, with an appearance from Markham Main Brass Band.

Looking for a bite to eat? Well, take your pick from a range of delicious food on offer from local vendors in their food trucks. With options such as Pizza, Fish & Chips, German Sausages, and warm mini Dutch Pancakes, you are guaranteed to find something delicious.

The evening is set to be a good one, so don’t miss out on the festivities!

There is no entry fee or booking necessary for the market. Please be aware that there is no on-site parking, so all guests must part in local car parks. Two car parks within walking distance from the college are offering free parking, so make sure to make the most of this opportunity at the Markets car park and St George’s car park. All guests are required to wear a facemask while attending the indoor elements of the market, unless exempt.
