Doncaster College and University Centre works closely with employers to deliver structured Apprenticeships that help build and develop an organisation’s workforce with the right skills, behaviours and knowledge.
As the largest provider of Apprenticeships in the region we are the first choice for many employers. We support employers to recruit new apprentices and also to use Apprenticeships to develop existing managers and staff too.
We can provide advice to businesses who are looking to recruit an Apprentice, or who would like an existing employee to start an Apprenticeship. We can advise on funding, including the Apprenticeship levy, help employers understand their responsibilities and even help recruit potential Apprentices for our employers.
Employers use Doncaster College and University Centre because:
- They know our students will already be developing the skills, knowledge and experience that will make you potentially a good candidate
- We have an excellent reputation as a training provider
- We offer a very broad range of Apprenticeships suitable for school leavers through to senior managers
- We support our employers right through from initial assessment of requirements through to the delivery and evaluation of Apprenticeship success.
Funding an Apprenticeship
Apprenticeships are funded through employer contributions, government funding and/or employer’s levy contributions. You could find there are no costs to using an apprenticeship for new or existing staff, apart from employment-related costs such as wages; you may only have to pay 5% which could be as low as £300 spread over a few months; or if you are an employer paying the Apprenticeship levy the cost of training and support could come straight from your levy.
