Course Overview

These courses are introductory sessions to the practical areas of Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, and Textiles are suitable for all abilities. They will allow you to try new materials and creative methods in our specialist workshops, delivered and supported by our well qualified staff. Easily accessible in Doncaster town centre, these courses are all delivered at The Hub campus, Chapell Drive, DN1 2RF.

Information and Fees

Each short course is £45 and runs for 5 weeks, plus additional material costs. Sessions run on a Tuesday evening from 6pm – 8pm. Depending on student numbers ceramics will run an additional daytime class 10am – 2pm, day is yet to be confirmed.

Drawing and Painting

Drawing and Painting courses encourage both traditional and non-traditional approaches to still life drawing and painting; inspired by an understanding of artists of the past.

Ceramics

Ceramics courses cover hand-building techniques, such as slab and coil building, and a variety of surface decorating processes using glazes and oxides. There is also the opportunity for using the potter’s wheel. Developing and Advancing students will begin to define their practice in a more individual direction.

Ceramics will run a daytime class 10am – 2pm depending on student numbers, day is yet to be confirmed

Textiles

Textiles courses involve a number of workshops including batik, tie dye, hand and machine stitching, knitting, and hand weaving; with a view to producing textile art works. Developing and Advancing students will begin to define their practice in a more individual direction.

Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme

We're proud to be able to offer Dual Career Accreditation via the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. This is a Sport England funded partnership between athletes, education institutions, and national governing bodies of sport.
