Course Overview

The development of management related skills and understanding of key football business operations will be two main themes running throughout all levels of the programme.

The curriculum will combine traditional aspects of management such as human resource management and managing football business operations with emerging themes such as international football business and innovation and enterprise.

Students undertaking the BA (Hons) International Football Business Management will study at the Doncaster College and University Centre’s idyllic 120 acre High Melton Campus.

The programme is specifically designed for those with a keen interest in the global business aspects of international football management whilst still wishing to enter or continue on a high level football curriculum. With high participation rates and large sums of revenue generated in world football there are range of job opportunities for suitably qualified people to help run, sustain and develop football clubs.

Units and Structure

To complete the BA (Hons) International Football Business Management, students will complete the following modules and levels:

Level 4

  • Football in a global business context
  • Academic Skills and Personal Development Planning
  • Organisational Behaviour
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Legal and Professional Frameworks in Football
  • Management information Systems

Level 5

  • Management Leadership and Development
  • Managing Human Resources
  • Football Clubs and Communities
  • Operations Management in a Football Business Context
  • International Football Marketing and Branding
  • Business Research Methods

Level 6

  • Dissertation
  • Consultancy Project, including reflective practice
  • Current issues in football
  • International Football Events Management
  • Developing Football Clubs in the international Business Context
  • Business Strategy

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

Entry to the course requires 80 Ucas points typically from one of the following:

  • A levels
  • BTEC National Diploma (MMP)
  • Diploma in Foundation Studies
  • Adult Access to HE
  • APL
  • Relevant work/background experience

We also welcome applications from people who do not meet the standard entry criteria, but we would expect to see evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development.
