Course Overview

Our introductory course to barbering is designed for anyone considering taking up Barbering. This course will help start, or continue your journey in the world of Barbering. Become fully immersed in this unique industry. Truly experience the creative and exciting world of modern barbering.

Featuring:

  • A realistic look at the barbering industry exploring every sector of the expanding world of barbering
  • Learn what it means to be a barber
  • Become familiar with salon surroundings and see what it’s like to be a barber.This qualification will provide opportunities to gain employment as a junior/stylist working in settings such as a hairdressing salon, cruise liner and working toward setting up your own business.

Course breakdown –

Introduction to Barbering College Certificate

  • Consultation
  • Shampoo And Condition Hair
  • Cut Men’s hair using Basic barbering techniques
  • Cut Facial hair using basic barbering techniques
  • Style and finish men’s hair
  • Cut Men’s hair (Written Assignment)
  • Styling men’s hair (Written Assignment)

You will be assessed throughout your course and produce a portfolio to evidence your underpinning knowledge and technical skills. The skills and knowledge you will acquire are highly transferable and there are many opportunities for you to develop your career in this sector.

 

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

  • GCSEs grades D or above in English and Maths
  • Attend an informal interview
  • Initial assessment score of Level 1 in both English and Maths
  • Adult learners who do not hold any formal qualifications must achieve an initial assessment score of Level 2 or above in English
  • Must have a keen interest in the Barbering industry
  • Must have excellent communication skills, excellent people skills, be of smart appearance.
