Course Overview

This course will help you develop your ability to evaluate the effectiveness of different HR models and practices, and increase your understanding of the external factors that impact upon HR activities and organisations. Whilst building expertise in key HR subjects, you’ll also develop your planning, analytical and problem solving skills.

On successful completion of this programme you will understand the requirements of, and perform as, an effective and efficient, self-managing HR professional, a collaborative member of working groups and teams, and an added-value contributor to the organisation .

The qualification is accredited by the CIPD and is equivalent to QCF level 5.

Subject to you having the appropriate level of experience, successful completion of the CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Certificate in HR Management means you can apply to become an Associate professional member of the CIPD or to progress onward to the level 7 qualification leading to full membership of the Institute (again subject to the appropriate level of experience).

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

Ideally you should be working within the human resource management or development field however we also welcome applications from individuals who deal with people management issues as a significant part of their work but do not meet the standard entry criteria and can provide evidence of relevant continuing professional development. All applicants will be interviewed by a member of the School of Business and Management teaching team prior to any offer or acceptance onto this course.
