Jess MacIntyre is highly experienced in delivering expert & dynamic LGBT+ awareness programmes to private, public and third sector organisations. As the director of OUT Training, Jess works closely with students, staff, managerial and executive teams to help shape the culture of their LGBT+ inclusivity and communicate this to their target audiences.
In 2012, Jess founded ReachOUT, a refugee and asylum LGBT support charity, which was nominated for Community Organisation of the Year in the 2014 National Diversity Awards. Through this, she started delivering LGBT+ intersectionality trainings to third sector organisations, law firms, NHS trusts, and social services. Until January 2016, Jess worked with PACE, a national LGBT+ mental health charity, as their Professional Practice Trainer. She has taught modules on LGBT+ mental health & LGBT+ relationship counselling on three postgraduate degrees offered through the Relate Institute at Birkbeck University of London and Leeds Beckett University.
Jess has a BA (Hons) in International Relations from University of Leeds, & an MA in Applied Human Rights from University of York. In 2014 she was nominated for LGBT Diversity Role Model of the Year in the National Diversity Awards, and was shortlisted for the Naz Fellowship Award in 2015. She has been shortlisted again as LGBT Diversity Role Model of the Year in the National Diversity Awards 2016
