Course Overview

You will learn to design and manufacture your own clothing and textiles.  All activities will be underpinned by a core of drawing/visualisation skills. The Course is equivalent to 1.5 A levels.

Units and Structure

The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Fashion and Textiles design. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project however you will expand on:

  • Trends and Predictions
  • Fashion Photography
  • Extended Print Techniques
  • Career Opportunities.

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

  • 4-5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English
  • or First Diploma in Art & Design Level 2 at Merit
  • All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview
  • All students will need to present a portfolio of art work at interview.

Opportunities exist to enter the Creative and Digital Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including designer and curator.
