Course Overview

The Extended Diploma is made up of mandatory and optional units – learners will also be required to attend placement in a work environment to support their learning. the minimum number of hours required is 175 hours.  (75 of these hours will be completed from the Certificate in Health and Social Care).

    • Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the start of the course.
  • Successful completion of the Certificate in Health & Social Care

 

  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 5 x GCSE grade 4/C including Maths and English prior to starting the course.
  • All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview.

Progression routes

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care has also been designed to enable learners to progress to Higher Education,  with further learning at level 4 and above, through to University or into a range of job roles within the Health and Social Care sector. If you are unsure about your career progression please contact the Careers Team.

Added Value

You will carry out practical activities and assessment role plays in our new ward room, where you will learn how to use many different types of equipment, including the hoist, slip sheets, rotunda, patient transfer equipment and a profile bed, real life mannequins will also be used to develop your skills.

You will be taught by our industry experts who design your lessons and assessments to provide you with the necessary skills required for the sector.

Our new Skills Academy gives you the opportunity to enhance your skills and career prospects further by opting in to further specialist training.
