Course Overview

The emphasis of this programme is to develop work related skills alongside creative thinking within a games/coding context. You will have the opportunity to work on industry led assignments to develop a professional creative identity.

Through a variety of practical assignments, written reports and presentations, you will gain an in-depth understanding of Games Design or Animation within the following areas:

Work Experience in the Creative Media Sector and Career Development for the Computer Games Industry with pathways in Design and Animation.

Computer Game Animation Pathway

Practical Skills for Computer Game Animation, 3D Modelling for Computer Games, 3D Environments for Computer Games, 3D Animation for Computer Games, CGI Rendering and Lighting for Computer Games Animation, 3D Character Animation for Computer Games

Computer Game Design Pathway

Practical Skills for Computer Game Design, 3D Computer Game Engines, Level Design for Computer Games, Production Techniques for Game Design, Human-Computer Interfaces for Computer Games

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

Entry to the course requires 64 Ucas points typically from one of the following:

  • A levels
  • BTEC National Diploma (MMP)
  • Diploma in Foundation Studies
  • Adult Access to HE
  • APL
  • Relevant work/background experience

We also welcome applications from people who do not meet the standard entry criteria, but we expect to see evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development.
