Course Overview

The HND conversion in Construction is one year of study which consists of six specialist units which can be tailored to match individual student specialisms. These can be agreed with the course leader upon gaining entry to course and will selected from the specialist list below.

Construction and Maintenance of Buildings; Technology of Complex Buildings; Building Services Design and Maintenance in Construction; Contractual Procedures and Procurement for Construction and the Built Environment; Conversion and Adaptation of Buildings; Measuring Tendering and Estimating for Construction and the Built Environment; Project Management for Construction and the Built Environment; Construction Methods and Design Solutions; Specification and Contract Documentation; Structural Behaviour in Buildings; Advanced Measurement for Construction; Design Procedures for Construction; Design Technology for Construction; Site Surveying Procedures for Construction and the Built Environment; Computer Aided Design for Construction; Work Based Learning and Assessment in Construction; Research Project.

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

One of the following:

  • A Current HNC in Construction
  • Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

We welcome applications from people of any age who might not meet the standard entry criteria, but we would expect to see evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development and a capacity to pursue the course successfully.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview to discuss your ability and suitability for the course.
