Assessment is through a series of practical and written assessments. The majority of classes take place in a room which has access to a computer lab which will enable the learners to develop and practice skills including building, maintaining, installing software and customisation.

Units and Structure
The course covers the following subjects:
- Testing ICT Systems
- Working iwth ICT Hardware and Equipment
- Security of ICT Systems
- Health and Safety in ICT
- Personal effectiveness and development
Tutorials form part of the curriculum, designed specifically to provide students with individual timeslots so feedback on assignments can be discussed along with any other queries. English and Maths will be included for learners who are yet to achieve a C at GCSE.
Entry Requirements
You'll need to have:
Entry to the course will be determined initially by application, diagnostic assessments, interview & followed by an induction programme. You are also required to have one of the following;
- 4 GCSE’s at grade D, or achieved
- OCR Level 1 National Certificate/Diploma in Business & ICT (Merit) or equivalent

Progression and Employment
Opportunities exist to enter the Computing and Digital Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including Network Engineer, Programmer and IT Technician.
